Golf Solitaire: from controls to your first round

Take a moment with Golf Solitaire before moving to another game. Remove all 35 tableau cards. Use the example below to understand a decision. Begin with the solo mode shown on the page. Choose a clear next step rather than rushing through the instructions.

Seven columns of five, one stock pass. Free solo play, no wagering.

Bring this focus to a round

After a move, check what changed. Decide which rule explains the new state before acting again. Keep the objective visible.

The objective of a round

Remove all 35 tableau cards. Use the instructions to see which actions move you towards it. Review the board or playing area as it changes.

How a round unfolds

  1. Take an exposed bottom card one rank above or below the waste top, allowing ace–king wrapping.
  2. Click an exposed card or eligible pair to remove it.
  3. Draw when useful.
  4. Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.

Input guidance

Click or tap cards and piles. Wide tableaus scroll inside the game; use Undo, Hint and New deal where shown. A careful first action helps you become familiar with the layout. Return to the rules if the result is unexpected.

A useful example

Waste queen accepts jack or king. Your next round may have a different position, so inspect it before acting. Verify the rule before continuing.

An important reminder

Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. Take a moment to reassess the position before continuing. Keep the stated aim separate from side details such as animation or appearance. Progress is measured by the game’s own completion or scoring rules.
