A practical guide to Bubble Shooter

Take a moment with Bubble Shooter before moving to another game. Clear the hanging bubbles before they reach the lower boundary. Use the example below to understand a decision. Keep the instructions close while learning this activity. Choose a clear next step rather than rushing through the instructions.

Original hexagonal matching board and bouncing projectiles.

Bring this focus to a round

When a decision goes wrong, compare it with the common mistake described below. Start again only when you intend to leave the current round. Keep the objective visible.

The objective of a round

Clear the hanging bubbles before they reach the lower boundary. The feedback beside the game helps you follow the round. Take a moment to understand the current position.

Making your moves

  1. Aim and fire.
  2. Attach bubbles to the cluster.
  3. Groups of three or more equal colours disappear.
  4. Floating groups drop; five misses lower the ceiling.

The controls to know

Pointer/touch aim, angle controls and Fire. On a smaller screen, keep the active part of the board within view. A new-round button replaces the current round.

Try this example

Removing one support can drop a larger mixed-colour group below it. Focus on why the action is allowed, not only its outcome. Take a moment to compare.

A common point of confusion

Contact with a different colour is not a match. A different version of the game may use a different rule. Locate the buttons and input area before beginning a long round. Use the on-screen labels to avoid an accidental restart.
