How to play Bowling

Choose a round of Bowling and settle into its rules. Complete ten frames and maximise the score. Choose a clear next step rather than rushing through the instructions. Treat the first round as a chance to learn the controls. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls.

Play ten frames using a two-dimensional bowling lane. Strikes, spares and bonus rolls count towards the total.

Try a more deliberate round

After a move, check what changed. Decide which rule explains the new state before acting again. Refer to the controls when needed.

The challenge in front of you

Complete ten frames and maximise the score. An attractive position is not enough unless the goal is met. Check the rules when you are unsure.

The steps to play

1. Set lane position and power.
2. Roll into the rack.
3. A strike ends a normal frame; otherwise roll again.
4. The tenth can earn bonus rolls.

Keyboard and screen controls

Lane-position/power sliders and Roll ball. Read a button’s label before selecting it. Use one clear input at a time.

Try this example

A strike followed by rolls of 4 and 5 makes the strike frame worth 19. An ordinary frame of 4 and 5 is worth 9. Apply the same reasoning to the position in your own round. Verify the rule before continuing.

A common point of confusion

Bonus-dependent frames may not yet have a confirmed total. Check the rule before repeating the action. When a decision goes wrong, compare it with the common mistake described below. Start again only when you intend to leave the current round.
